This Fairtrade Organic Peruvian coffee is sourced through cooperatives. The coffee is grown at altitudes above 1250 metres and is predominantly a mix of Bourbon, Typica and Caturra varietals, although in some areas Pache and Geisha trees can also be found. Peru is one of the world's top Fairtrade Organic producing origin. Farmers grow Inga trees to provide shade for their coffee, these trees attract hummingbirds, parrots, warblers and tanagers. The farmers also maintain small nurseries on their farms to raise seedlings to replace aging trees. This bean has herbaceous and soft chocolate flavours.

Rich chocolate flavours

This decaf easily beats most caffeinated available from cafes I've ever had. Smooth and rich with lots of chocolate aftertaste. I choose this over my caffeinated beans most days simply because it tastes great. I roast it myself in an old bread maker using a heat gun, so it can be a bit hit and miss, but I haven't had a bad batch with this bean. Especially worth it if you're trying to cut down on your caffeine intake.
